Or was, anyway. Next year I'm making it a point to celebrate by being curled up nice and warm in bed and making like Jirou and sleeping all day. And the day after that. So that my family won't get any weird ideas about throwing big parties out of the blue without even warning me.

Got back to the dorms late last night because we went karaoke! It was the best! We managed to convince Atobe to try singing some American rap song that they'd translated to Japanese. I nearly bust a gut laughing. I have it on tape too. I can probably sell copies of it for a huge profit. I think they have some equipment in the music room for that.

Yuushi was not amused with my Yuushi-lookalike doll. He said it doesn't look anything like him. We spent a good ten minutes arguing over it until he realized he was arguing over something really stupid. Heh. I left all the gifts I received at the dorm, dumped on Jirou's bed no less. I'll get them cleared out before you move back in, Jirou, don't worry.

Oh! But I did bring Ohtori's gift home with me. It's really really good! I didn't know you could sculpt so well. Heck, I didn't even know you could sculpt using tofu. I didn't know they sold tofu in blocks that big! My mother thought it very amusing, to have my face carved into a block of tofu. She wants to have it glazed and put on a glass display. My mom has the weirdest ideas sometimes. I still say it's a waste of good tofu.

I'm sleeping in tomorrow. I'm killing anyone who tries waking me up.

... that bust hardly looks like you. I wish I had more time to work on it--I sincerely didn't get the idea till Akutagawa-senpai stole your tofu. It was certainly my first time sculpting out of tofu.

Also, that tofu actually didn't come that large--I did manage to find a big enough block to use as a base at a restaurant; the rest, I had to work in pieces and have it, er, melded together. If you'll look closely, you can see the lines of where I had overlaid strips atop each other to form the planes of your face. I do admit, I cheated just a little, applying a little plaster...

However, I'm glad you enjoyed the gift, even if it was meant just for laughs. I suppose not many people can say that they own a bust of themselves made from tofu.

Plaster? You put plaster in it? Well, there goes my grandiose idea of making hiyayakko and yudofu out of it. (Not that I was actually planning on eating it. That would be rather disgusting, but the fate of so much tofu is distressing.)

Maybe I should agree with my mother after all and allow her to have it glazed.

Hm. You know, I should've thought about glazing it, but I was running close to the deadline anyway. If you do decide to have it done, I can do it for you, if you'd like.

No worries. I have a feeling my mother would have had it sent out to the glazer before the week is through.
